Admission
Duran Piano Studio welcomes any student seeking to improve their playing and expand their love for music.
- An interview/ trial lesson, with a fee of $60, is required.
Tuition and Fees 2023-2024
Lessons can begin during any time of the year.
Annual tuition covers 42 lessons. Lessons are one hour long, and in some cases they can also be 90 minutes. A 45-minute or 30-minute lesson cannot possibly cover the needs of the student. A 60-minute lesson reflects the level of commitment made by the student.
1 Hour Lesson – Annual Rate: $3,570 – Trimester Rate: $1190
Payment is made online every three months on the trimester rate.

Lessons and Practice Requirements - Students younger than 18 years old
- All lessons are audio recorded by the instructor. Students are also welcome to record their lesson.
- Students are asked to refrain from wearing any clothing that displays political or religious imagery.
- Practicing consistently and correctly is the best way to benefit from private lessons.
- The student should aim to have the instrument in a comfortable and quiet space, with as minimal amounts of distractions as possible, in order to obtain the best results during the practice session.
- Correct posture must be replicated from the lesson at home. If the instrument is too high or too low may result in physical injury (carpal tunnel, tendinitis, tennis elbow). If unsure, please refer to the instructor.
- 1st Year Studio Students: 60 minutes daily
- 2nd Year Studio Students: 75 minutes daily
- 3rd Year Studio Students: 90 minutes daily
- 4th Year Studio Students: 120 minutes daily
Lessons and Practice Requirements - Adult Students
- Practicing consistently and correctly is the best way to benefit from private lessons. Work and family commitments take priority, and recommended practice time varies from student to student. When in doubt, ask your instructor for guidance on how to make the best out of your limited practice time in order to really benefit from taking lessons.
Cancellations – Tardiness – Make-up lessons
- No make-up lessons are offered, except for emergencies.
- In case of severe weather, lessons will move online, or can be rescheduled.
- If the Instructor cancels a lesson, the instructor will work with the student to find a date that suits the student’s schedule.
- If the student is late for the lesson, the instructor will not lengthen the lesson time in order to accommodate the student’s tardiness.
- If the student shows any signs of sickness the student can either schedule a remote lesson, forfeit the lesson, or wear a mask during the lesson. N95 masks are available at the studio.
- The Instructor reserves the right to suspend lessons if the student does not properly comply with the above-stated policies.
