It is the goal of Duran Piano Studio to cultivate skilled musicians by providing them with a balanced music education. The studio provides a space where they can freely express themselves and learn self-determination. By fostering independence and self-motivation from the beginning, the student can be proud of their work and feel more prepared for whatever the future holds for them. Even if music is not the ultimate goal, the skills and techniques learn during piano lessons will translate into every other area of the student’s life.
Interview and Lesson
The interview serves as a way to become better acquainted with studio policies, responsibilities of the instructor and student, and inquiries regarding the instructor’s background in teaching and performing.
The lesson comes immediately after the interview. The purpose of the lesson is to demonstrate to the instructor the level of musical development and listening abilities the student has, regardless of whether or not the student has taken part of any music instruction in the past.
Prospective students with previous piano instruction are encouraged to bring any materials that might have been used in lessons in the past.
